Inspired by the ideas of control and fetishism in the religious circuit this couture garment explores the restricting nature of the church and questions the imposed beliefs of sexuality and sexual identity. Through the church's condemnation of lust and sexual exploration, it is in turn controlling the mind and body, forcing the repression of one's natural desires. Which is more fetishistic; the urges from the heart and mind or the stranglehold of the church over these? With a suffocating silhouette, 24,000 hand sewn beads symbolize a drowning by the rosary while a torn, traditional baptism alb drowns and covers the beauty and figure of the perfect psyche underneath.
